The notion that “You cannot be intelligent merely by choosing your opinions” highlights an important distinction between true understanding and merely holding beliefs. Intelligence is not simply about the ability to pick or declare opinions, but involves critical thinking, seeking knowledge, and being open to learning and growth.

Choosing an opinion without giving it much thought can lead to shallow thinking, confirmation bias, and not being ready to change your mind when new evidence comes up. Curiosity, humility, and the discipline to question assumptions instead of just choosing views that are easy or popular are all signs of real intelligence.
This idea finds resonance in biblical teaching. Proverbs 18:13 (NIV) says:
“To answer before listening— that is folly and shame.” This verse talks about how important it is to listen and understand before you judge or form an opinion.

Thus, to sum up, real intelligence isn’t just picking an opinion; it’s also deeply engaging with knowledge, listening carefully, and being willing to improve what you understand. Both secular philosophy and the Bible value knowledge and maturity that come from this way of life.

Thanks for reading. Walk daily, eat simply, rest well, release stress and stay kind. cheers!!! Don’t forget to share it to someone you love.
