Most people miss the signs. If you look at scripture, there is a recurring pattern that plays out right before things change.
If you’re reading this today, it may not be an accident. Before you scroll past, stay with me—because this might be the reminder your soul has been waiting for.
When God is getting ready to move you into a new season, he almost never does it in a vacuum. He sends people. Usually, they fall into two very specific groups.
First, there are the true friends God prepares for the journey. Think of Moses and Joshua or David and Jonathan. Even Paul had Timothy, and Jesus kept his disciples close. God isn’t interested in seeing you walk through these transitions alone. He places people in your life who actually pray for you and hold you up when you feel like you’re losing your footing. They aren’t there to drain your energy; they exist to point you back toward God. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says two are better than one, and that’s not just a nice sentiment. It is provision. If you have people standing by you in the low moments, realize that isn’t a coincidence.
Then there is the second group: the opposition.
Moses had to deal with Pharaoh. David had Saul. Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers. It seems like the moment God decides to lift you up, some form of resistance has to rise against you. You’ll find people who misunderstand what you’re doing, or they get envious and decide to attack. But here is the thing—they cannot stop God. They don’t have the power to overthrow what he has already planned for your life. Sometimes that opposition isn’t actually there to destroy you. Maybe it’s just there to make the plan clearer.
If you are stuck in the middle of this right now, try not to lose heart. Friends refine who you are, but the opposition defines the moment. Both of them are working in your favor.
