Proverbs 28:5 says that “those who seek the LORD fully understand justice, but evil men do not.” The necessity of seeking the Lord in order to fully understand justice is emphasized in this verse.

In the context of this proverb, “justice” refers to a righteous and fair judgment or decision. Evil individuals, who are characterized by their wickedness and lack of moral values, do not possess the understanding or discernment needed to grasp the true meaning of justice. Their perspectives and actions are shaped by their own selfish desires and disregard for others.

The Lord, on the other hand, can be deeply understood by those who genuinely seek Him out and develop a relationship with Him. Studying the Bible and seeking the Lord entails lining one’s behaviour with His moral precepts and submitting to His instruction. They will be able to develop a God-centred viewpoint that will enable them to recognise justice and respond appropriately.

The lesson included in this proverb is that genuine justice can only be understood by seeking the Lord and following His guidance. In order to make decisions and navigate through life, it exhorts people to rely on God’s teachings and ideals. In order to advance justice in our relationships with others and make a positive impact on a more just society, we should cultivate a mindset of fairness, compassion, and righteousness by seeking the Lord.
