A man could fall prey to the same evil that he celebrates today. It is easy to overlook the subtle character of the atrocities we celebrate or tolerate for our personal benefit in a society where moral boundaries are frequently blurred.
At first glance, these behaviours could appear innocuous or even advantageous—offering momentary gratification. But as history and life have shown us, accepting such sins can plant the seeds of one’s own destruction. People who rise to power through falsehood, undermining or sabotage in The Family, Church Organisations, Corporate Entities, Politics, Media, Education, Football Administration or the judiciary usually reap whatever seed they sowed to rise to power and very often, the same evil is done to them with interest,
The Deception of Immunity We frequently persuade ourselves that our activities will not affect us, especially when they seem to have instant advantages. In society, this is most clear in the ways that people manipulate the truth to obtain power, celebrate greed in business dealings, and defend immoral choices for their own benefit. The paradox is that actions that provide fleeting satisfaction now may have significant consequences later on. If a guy supports corruption he sees, giving those who practice it more confidence, he can soon become enmeshed in the identical web he enabled.
Examine the well-known story of power and how ephemeral it is.
Leaders who rise to power by taking advantage of others’ weaknesses frequently face the painful realisation that the very people and systems they have strengthened might just as readily turn against them. The same strategies that the tyrant praised for his strength may eventually bring him down. Similar to this, those who engage in dishonest behaviour may benefit in the short term but run the danger of losing their integrity and, thus, their long-term success.
Choices have a ripple effect.
All of our decisions have an impact on society and our own lives. By normalizing or applauding negative conduct, we support a culture that not only accepts but institutionalizes evil. In the end, this widespread acceptance may become unmanageable, creating a society in which nobody feels respected, safe, or shielded from the exact evil that they once considered beneficial. Envision a future in which your family, friends, and community are impacted by the same treachery, dishonesty, and cruelty in which you previously took part.
*Responsibility and Introspection*
The implications of our endorsements and our principles must be considered. Do we genuinely think our activities are righteous, or are we just using them to further our own interests at the expense of others? Should the latter be the case, we are forced to face the unsettling reality that the evil we accept now might very well be directed against us in the future. Galatians 6:7-8, states that, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” This verse highlights the idea that one’s actions have consequences, and celebrating evil can lead to negative outcomes.
In conclusion, it is a potent warning that “a man could become the next victim of the evil he celebrates today.” We should avoid the shortsighted tendency to defend or rationalize wrongdoings because they suit our present needs. Let us instead aim for a moral compass based on honesty, compassion, and foresight. Our communities and ourselves are shielded from the very powers we have chosen to honour by eschewing the horrors we would be tempted to embrace today. Since accountability is the foundation of our society, a dedication to justice eventually protects our own destiny.
