The Diploma Doesn’t Fill the Fridge
Graduating is a major milestone, but it really isn’t the finish line people say it is. That cap and gown? They’re just a receipt for information you paid for. They aren’t some magic passport to a high-paying life.
And here is the reality most deans will probably avoid mentioning: Poverty does not care about your GPA.
Learning how to make money is a whole different curriculum. This one tests how resourceful you are, not just what you can memorize for a Tuesday morning quiz. This system rewards people for actually solving problems instead of just passing a test. It pays for value. It doesn’t pay for validation.
Sure, a degree might get you through the door for an interview. But financial freedom? That is built on an entirely different set of skills—things like discipline and staying adaptable and having the guts to actually start something.
So be careful. Don’t go confusing a diploma with a guaranteed destiny. The classroom part is over now, I guess, and the actual education is just starting to get serious. It’s time to learn the new syllabus.
So step into this new season with your eyes open. Your degree is valuable, but it is not your savior. Be wise enough to study the new curriculum of life. And always remember: ‘All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.’ ‘ (Proverbs 14:23). Go build something real and The Grace of God will be sufficient for you.
